This is an
Overview of how this Guide to General Paper can be used to benefit you most.
I have
adopted a topical approach, meaning I cover Essay Writing as well as language and vocabulary in
certain chapters and discuss selected topics popular with Cambridge in some
chapters. Topics are selected from Sections A, B and C of the syllabus. Up-to-date information
on each of these topics will be provided together with certain questions to set
you thinking. It is obviously impossible to cover all the topics in this website,
so you will need to read up on topics which interest you but which are not
covered here.
In each of
the Chapters, you will be directed to links either to external websites or to
pages within this website. The external links will enable you to read more
about the topic in question. The internal links will lead you to Activities
related to these topics or to related Sample Essay Outlines or Sample Essays.
Do not limit your reading to the links provided. These external links are meant to encourage you to surf the internet for more material about each of the topics.
Some of the lectures are presented in the form of PowerPoint slides as I believe this is a
more interesting way of presentation as compared to just pages of word text.
I hope you
find this guide useful. You can go through only chapters which appeal to you or
follow the whole guide through. A lot depends on how much background knowledge
you have of General Paper.
I assume everyone
looking at this Guide will be sitting for the Cambridge General Paper
Examination, so all the best! You can do it!
